A flow weight tester for MFR and MVR measurement

The Zwick GmbH & Co KG has in recent years, the portfolio of their testing equipment and machinery for the plastics industry, is expanding continuously. At K 2010, the company presents the new generation of testing machines, and pendulum impact both as individual systems and in automated execution. In addition, a new generation of weight tester is presented – the XFL ow series.

In the last three years, Zwick has renewed its entire product range for weight tester. The range of equipment begins with the cflow, a simple “melt index” test set for MFR measurement. Like all devices in the series XFlow it has information on the service provider already has the high temperature stability that is required in the new ISO / DIS 1133-2. Increased requirements, such as the MVR measurement or a self-running measurement covered with the modular weight tester mFlow. Here the user has the ability to upgrade the device to target with options such as a position measuring system, a weight increase or weight of a pre-set by staking.

For extensive use, such as a 24-hour use or high demands on measurement accuracy and repeatability of the measurement procedures, now is the Aflow available – the latest device in this series. It can be equipped with optional automatic compacting device to set compacting pressure and time in the software. The APC function optimizes the test parameters and thus ensures precision in time and distance measurement. It is both stand-alone operation as well as in the control of the device with the testing software testXpert II available.

A high accuracy is also in the reproducibility of test results with impact tests on Charpy and Izod specimens of plastic is an important aspect. To reduce the influence of the operator, an automated robotic inspection system for the product was also developed by Zwick pendulum impact. The advantages are the safe transport of the sample to the detention of the percussion, and automatic alignment and release. The system can be used for tests at room temperature and on cooled samples.
