Center of global plastic and rubber machinery manufacture will shift to China

The latest report published by VDMA (German Engineering Federation) reveals that in terms of the production value of worldwide plastic and rubber machinery in 2009, China takes up 23.5%, and the percentage of Germany, Italy, United States and Japan is respectively 22.5%, 12.1%, 6.5% and 4.1%. It is clear that China surpasses Germany and becomes the biggest plastic and rubber machinery producer worldwide.

Chemical industry researcher Chang Yizhi points out that in recent years, global plastic machinery market has been in recession. However, the development of tire industry boosts China’s plastic machinery industry dramatically, gradually changing the distribution pattern of the global plastic machinery market. At present, there is a tendency that the center of plastic machinery manufacture shifts to China.

On one hand, tire production giants worldwide now invest in China and set up plants, promoting the transfer of global tire manufacture center to China and increasing the order request for China’s plastic machinery production. China’s plastic machinery industry thus develops rapidly.

On the other hand, as the global tire manufacture center is transferring to China, many plastic machinery producers worldwide set up plants in China and further cooperation with domestic plastic machinery producers, which also accelerates the pace of transferring the global plastic machinery center to China.

According to the Report on Investment Analysis and Prospects Forecast of China’s Rubber Machinery Industry from 2010 to 2015, there are now 800 plastic machinery producers worldwide in total, among which China takes up over a third and reaches over 300. Moreover, sales revenue of China’s plastic machinery has ranked number one in the world for six consecutive years since 2003. Particularly in 2009, the sales revenue of China accounts for 25% of the world’s total.
